Objectives:
To meet the pressing housing and development needs in Vietnam, Habitat for Humanity International will operate in Vietnam over the next 5 years to accomplish the following key objectives:
1. PROGRAMS:
- 18,000 families are served by 2011 via core business models of Housing Micro-Finance, vocational and technical training, technical support in shelter, water and sanitation improvement and transformational community development:
Microfinance partnerships are established (informal and formal)
Technical services delivery quality construction training and monitoring services
Community and Partner participation models develop best practices for replication
- Shelter and related vocational traing business loan services and the Habitat Resource Centers:
Housing gaps are identified and filled by creative collaboration and delivery systems
MFI partnerships and ‘best practices’ are mainstreamed into financial (Habi-Loan) program
Housing Micro-Finance is embraced by a variety of low-cost housing providers, NGOs & Government
Broader community impact opportunities realized (“more than houses”)
HRC Model has broad impact (training, income generation, low cost materials and production)
- HFH staff and leadership develop and mentor specific competencies for each business model:
Human Resource Systems recruit, develop and retain competent staff for:
Loan Management, Finance, MFI
Technical, Construction, A/T, Disaster Response
Community Development, Transformation
Resource Mobilization, Events and Communication
Administration and other Support
- Regional Support Offices established in Strategic Locations
Multi-national and Local RM Office & Urban HRC - Ho Chi Minh City (South)
Kien Giang Provincial & Mekong Delta Project Offices & Rural HRC (Mekong – Deep South)
Government and Bi-lateral Relations Representative Office & Urban/Rural HRC – Hanoi (North)
Central Program Development Office & Urban/Rural HRC – Danang (Central)

- Revolving Fund is developed, sustained and recapitalized
Loan Business Model Developed
Partnership Shelter Funds Created & Revolving
MFI or Social/Charitable Trust organization registration explored
